FATHER PHIL'S 70TH BIRTHDAY
Unknowningly to Father Phil, certain members of our Parish; in fact, pretty much all of the members of our parish, had been planning the a very special party for a very special person. He thought that he was going to a celebration of the anniversary of Filipine Independance but thanks to his eagle eye and a couple of stray parishioners, and a certain person asking way too many questions, he began to suspect that maybe he wasn't.
What he was going to was an enormous 'thank you' and 'happy birthday' rolled into one, from his parishioners. Delicious food, including a hogroast, currys, delicacies from the Filipines, drinks, dancing and entertainment provided by the young and not so young members of the parish. It was a fabulous occasion and an absolute credit to all concerned. Especailly, Father Phil.
May he have many more birthdays and many more years as our priest and our friend.
